G-Dragon’s acquaintances support his innocence amid drug use allegations

While singer G-Dragon is strongly denying allegations of drug use, his close acquaintances are coming forward to support his innocence

On October 31st, G-Dragon’s solicitor Kim Soo-hyun, a lawyer at K1 Chamber Law Firm, said through an official statement, “Kwon Ji-yong (G-Dragon’s real name) decided to voluntarily attend the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Division on November 6th to actively receive investigation so that it can proceed quickly and fairly.”

Lawyer Kim emphasized, “We hope the media and press will show a responsible attitude when reporting the news to prevent the spread of false information and irreversible damage to Kwon Ji-yong, a representative K-pop artist in Korea. In this regard, we will take firm responses against the spread of groundless speculations, false information, and defamation until the end.”

Recently, G-Dragon was booked by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Division on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

However, G-Dragon repeatedly denied the allegations, first through a statement issued by his lawyer on October 27th, stating, “I didn’t take drugs.” Three days later, through another statement, he said, “I’ll actively do the hair and urine tests to resolve injustice as soon as possible.

In addition to G-Dragon’s firm denial, some of his acquaintances have come forward to support his innocence.

G-Dragon’s longtime stylist, bodyguard, director, etc shared the content of his statements through their respective Instagram accounts. The posts contained the message, “G-Dragon did not use drugs.

This situation has seen G-Dragon’s close associates joining in to refute the drug allegations. Everyone is eagerly awaiting the results of the investigation.
