From “Arthdal Chronicles 2” to “The Uncanny Counter 2”, upcoming K-dramas on tvN and JTBC 

Various interesting K-dramas will be hitting the small screen via tvN and JTBC in the second half of 2023. This is a summary.

tvN and JTBC are planning to sequentially reveal their dramas for the second half of 2023, starting with “See You in My 19th Life” and “King the Land”. Here is a summary of the upcoming tvN and JTBC dramas:

1. See You in My 19th Life

See You in My 19th Life” depicts the story of a girl who retains the memories of her past lives even after reincarnation. In her 18th life, she lived by the name Yoon Joo Won, and became close with a kid named Moon Seo Ha (Ahn Bo Hyun). Later on, she was reborn in her 19th life as Ban Ji Eum (Shin Hye Sun), and started to approach Moon Seo Ha with affection.

2. The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch

The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch” is a sequel to the drama “The Uncanny Counter”, which was aired on OCN in 2020. It follows the story of counters, people who kill evil spirits, who worked in disguise as employees of a noodle restaurant.

In addition to the actors who appeared in Season 1, such as Jo Byung Gyu, Yoo Jun Sang, Kim Se Jeong, and Yeom Hye Ran, actors Jin Sun Kyu, Kang Ki Young, and Kim Hieora will also appear.

3. Arthdal Chronicles: Sword of Aramun

“Arthdal Chronicles: Sword of Aramun” (working title) is the sequel to the 2019 drama “Arthdal Chronicles”. This season is set 8 years after Ta Gon (played by Jang Dong Gun) becomes the king of Arth, wherein Eunsom (played by Lee Joon Gi in season 2 and by Song Joong Ki in the previous season) forms an alliance and confronts Ta Gon.

4. Diva of the Deserted Island

“Diva of the Deserted Island” portrays the journey of Seo Mok Ha (played by Park Eun Bin), who gets stranded on a deserted island while trying to attend a singing audition. After 15 years, she is finally rescued from the island, but has to try and adjust to an unfamiliar world, at the same time keeping her cheerful attitude and pursuing her dream.

JTBC

1. King the Land

King the Land” is a romantic comedy drama about Goo Won (played by Lee Jun Ho), a successor to a conglomerate who cannot endure fake smiles, and Cheon Sa Rang (played by Im Yoona), who must always put on a bright smile even when she doesn’t want to.

2. Miracle Brothers

The drama “Miracle Brothers” tells the story of Yuk Dong Joo (played by Jung Woo), a struggling writer who works part-time to make a living, and Kang San (played by Bae Hyun Sung), a boy who can read the pain of others, as they heal each other’s wounds.

3. Behind Your Touch

The drama “Behind Your Touch” (working title) depicts the story of Ye Bun (played by Han Ji Min), a veterinarian with psychokinetic abilities, and Jang Yeol (played by Lee Min Ki), a hot-blooded detective, as they solve criminal cases in a small rural village called Mujin in Chungcheong Province.

4. Strong Woman Gang Nam Soon

“Strong Woman Gangnam Soon” is a spin-off of the 2017 drama “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” which starred Park Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young. This spin-off follows the story of Gang Nam Soon (played by Lee Yoo Mi), the sixth cousin of Do Bong Soon, and her mother Gang Geun Joo (played by Kim Jung Eun), as they uncover the truth about a drug organization operating in Gangnam.
