Former Produce 101 Contestant Confesses to Struggling with Depression and Eating Disorder Due to Evil Editing 

Heo Chanmi, a former trainee of SM Entertainment, debuted in 2010 as part of the co-ed group Coed School and its female unit F-ve Dolls the following year, but unfortunately, did not achieve great success and the group disbanded.

In 2016, Heo Chanmi once again challenged herself as an idol through Mnet’s survival show “Produce 101”. She competed on the show as a trainee from Dublekick Company. 

However, during the show’s broadcast, Heo Chanmi was engulfed in various controversies regarding her talent and personality.

During a recent TV show guest appearance, Heo Chanmi revealed that she suffered from depression and an eating disorder due to the evil editing of “Produce 101,” which led her to top real-time search rankings for five weeks, but at the cost of her mental health.

She added that her entire family watched her on “Produce 101” together and everyone felt sorry for her. 

Meanwhile, Heo Chanmi switched to a trot singer through TV Chosun’s “Miss Trot 2” in December 2020 and stood out as a talented singer with exceptional musicality and unique charm, earning the title of “Trot Goddess.” She has since released her first trot album “CHANMI’s TROT: Hauendae Beach” and is actively engaging in various fields.
