Former AOA member Choa reveals she was contacted by the production team of “Squid Game: The Challenge”
Choa received a meeting offer from the production team of “Squid Game” reality show.
On September 30th, a video was uploaded to the YouTube channel of former AOA member Choa with the title, “Will I appear in Netflix’s reality version of ‘Squid Game’ with the prize of 6.3 billion won?”
In the video, Choa heard the news about “Squid Game: The Challenge” and said, “Netflix is having a reality show based on ‘Squid Game’ with real participants. They are taking applications to appear on the show. The winner gets 6.3 billion won.” Choa suggested that all members of her agency apply to appear together.
After Choa introduced herself as a “K-pop singer and a YouTuber with 400,000 subscribers”, she said, “If I become the winner of the prize, I’ll donate part of it and buy an apartment.”
She continued, “Why do I want to participate? I really love ‘Squid Game’ and Netflix. Please pick me.” She filmed her application video and submitted it.
A few days later, Choa got a phone interview offer from the production team of “Squid Game: The Challenge”.
Choa said while panicking, “Oh no. I’m not good at English,” and added, “I’ll reveal the result in the next video.”
Meanwhile, “Squid Game: The Challenge” is a reality program in which the general public participates in a game that appears in the series “Squid Game” and competes for a prize of $4.56 million (about 6.3 billion won).
The number of participants will be 456, and the games they will participate in are expected to include games newly added by Netflix.
