Former AKB48 member who appeared in Zico’s MV explained affair rumors, “Even if I stand in court…”

Mariko Shinoda from AKB48, who appeared in Zico’s MV “It Was Love”, is caught up in affair rumors. 

On December 28 last year, Mariko Shinoda explained about her affair with Mr. A, a businessman in his 30s, on her own Instagram.

She said, “I’m sorry to make a fuss about a personal matter. The reason why I haven’t said anything so far is for my family. I thought I shouldn’t speak carelessly considering my relationship with my young daughter and husband. It’s the same reason why I refused the media’s request for coverage.”

She continued, “I didn’t have an affair. I will say the same even if I stand in court in the future. I’m not in a position to ask for something, but I hope you refrain from doing things that are a nuisance to the people around me, including my family, friends, and staff,” strongly refuting the rumors of her affair with A.

Previously, it was reported that Mariko Shinoda’s husband is demanding alimony from A, who is known to be the affair partner of Mariko Shinoda. Even a transcript of Mariko Shinoda’s alleged interrogation of her by her husband has been released.

In the transcript, Mariko Shinoda clung to her husband, “I apologize. I’m sorry. It’s my fault. It’s all my fault.” However, her husband said, “There is also responsibility. I know that we have a daughter. I can’t do anything anymore. I’ve already prepared myself. You are the one who destroyed this family in an instant.”

Mariko Shinoda made her debut in 2006 with  AKB48’s single album “Cherry Blossom Petals”. She has since appeared in multiple dramas. In Korea, she made her face known by appearing in Zico’s MV “It Was Love”.
