Five Representative 4th Gen Girl Groups Win Best Music at the 2023 K-Global Heart Dream Awards

The 2023 K-Global Heart Dream Awards announced the winners of the Best Music Award a day before the event.

The 2023 K-Global Heart Dream Awards is the largest K-pop festival planned to support the hosting of the Busan Expo. It will take place on August 10th at KSPO DOME in Seoul.

The organizing committee announced the winners of the ‘K-Global Best Music Award’ category a day before the awards ceremony on August 9th. Accordingly, five representative 4th gen girl groups including (G)I-DLE, aespa, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans took home this category’s trophies. 

(G)I-DLE, following their title track ‘Nxde’ from their 5th mini album ‘I love’ released last October and the title track ‘Queencard’ from their 6th mini album ‘I feel’ released in May this year, topped major domestic and international music charts. 

While on a world tour, (G)I-DLE expressed their gratitude, “We are truly thankful for this meaningful award.

aespa, who released their 3rd mini album ‘MY WORLD’ last May after a 10-month hiatus, dominated domestic and international charts with their title track ‘Spicy’.

IVE, who successfully followed their debut with hit singles like ‘ELEVEN’, ‘LOVE DIVE’, and ‘After LIKE’, continued their unstoppable march with their first full album ‘I’ve IVE’ released in April this year. Both the pre-release track ‘Kitsch’ and the title track ‘I AM’ are still performing well on major domestic and international charts.

IVE shared their determination, “We will work hard to become an artist worthy of the prestigious ‘K-Global Best Music Award’ that has been given to us. We also want to express gratitude to everyone who cherishes and loves our music. And to all our DIVEs, thank you for always supporting us.”

LE SSERAFIM, who dropped their first full album ‘UNFORGIVEN’ released in May this year, made their mark as a top 4th gen girl group. Particularly, ‘UNFORGIVEN’ and its title track ‘UNFORGIVEN’, along with the song ‘Eve, Psyche, and the Wife of BlueBeard’, received a lot of love.

Debuting in August last year, NewJeans sparked the ‘NewJeans Syndrome’ domestically and internationally with their debut track ‘Hype boy’ and subsequent singles like ‘Cookie’, ‘Attention’, ‘OMG’, and ‘Ditto’. Their recent 2nd mini album ‘Get Up’ has been setting records as well.

NewJeans expressed their gratitude, “We are very thankful for this great award. We thank CEO Min Hee Jin and everyone who participated in this album. Especially to Bunnies, thank you for always giving us your warm love and support. We will continue to make good music.”

The 2023 K Global Heart Dream Awards is receiving explosive attention as this year’s first official awards ceremony.

It previously garnered attention for announcing the participation of male idols representing the 4th and 5th generations, including NCT’s Taeyong, The Boyz, Stray Kids, ATEEZ, T5, ENHYPEN, EPEX, ATBO, CIRCUS, BOYNEXTDOOR, ZEROBASEONE, and more.

Female idols like Red Velvet’s Seulgi, fromis_9, ITZY, Secret Number, STAYC, along with soloists and bands like Younha, Zico, Lee Seung Yoon, Paul Kim, Kim Jae Hwan, and AleXa, have also been included in the lineup.

Popular TV host Jeon Hyun Moo, and comedian Jang Do Yeon have been chosen as the MCs for the event.
