
Five record-breaking first-day album sales from K-pop female groups
Female K-pop groups are showing growing dominance in the field with whopping first-day sales figures.
My World – aespa
aespa topped the girl group’s first-day sale rankings with their third mini-album “My World”. This is their comeback album after 10 months without too many activities.

According to released statistics, the album recorded 1.37 copies on its first day of release. The SM girl group also broke the record for obtaining a million seller (1.68 million sold copies) with first-week album sales.
UNFORGIVEN – LE SSERAFIM
LE SSERAFIM was the highest-selling K-pop girl group on the first day of album release with “UNFORGIVEN”. Nonetheless, aespa took over first place and LE SSERAFIM came in second.

LE SSERAFIM’s first studio album recorded an impressive 1.024 sold copies on its first-day sales.
BORN PINK – BLACKPINK
The global girl group BLACKPINK achieved 1 million sold albums with “BORN PINK” on its first day. This is the YG’s girl group’s first music release after 2 years. They are also the only third-generation girl group who broke into top 5 female K-pop groups with the highest first-day album sales.

Girls – aespa
Currently, aespa is the only female K-pop act to have two million-selling first-week album sales. The mini-album “Girls” came out in July last year and achieved 806,000 sold copies on its first day.

I’VE IVE – IVE
IVE’s first full-length album “I’VE IVE” was dropped in April and brought them major achievements. The Starship girl group’s album received 601,000 sold copies on its first day and made it to top 5 of the highest first-day album sales by a girl group.
