FIFA reportedly in trouble because of BLACKPINK’s concert?

The International Football Federation is having a headache because of BLACKPINK concert, according to foreign media.

According to foreign media outlet CNN on February 9th, Indonesia and FIFA were in discussion over the BLACKPINK’s next month concert at Gelora Bung Karno State Stadium in Indonesia.

The reason the two parties met is because the matches of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be held from May 20th to June 11th, will occur at the same stadium.

The media reported, “The FIFA U-20 World Cup Organizing Committee emphasized the condition of the grass at the main stadium and expressed concern about the BLACKPINK concert being held at the main stadium, the venue for the U-20 World Cup.”

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Football Association has stated that although BLACKPINK’s Indonesia concert will be held next month, they will not neglect lawn maintenance.

It was known that the Indonesian government originally opposed BLACKPINK’s concert, only to approve it in November last year. They objected to the idea of renovating the stadium for the U-20 World Cup, but permitted the concert without giving a clear reason. Now, FIFA is raising concerns that the concert will lead to below-quality grass conditions for the U-20 World Cup.

On the other hand, BLACKPINK’s Indonesia concert, which is a part of their BORN PINK World Tour, will be held on March 11th and 12th.
