Not every idol can continue to achieve success once they are no longer members of a famous group.
Disbandment is never something that idols or fans can talk happily about. After going on separate paths, not every idol, even when they come from popular groups, can maintain popularity on their own. There are female idols who end up getting part-time jobs outside of the entertainment industry to keep themselves busy.
Debuting under the entertainment giant YG, 2NE1 became a legendary girl group of Kpop and reaped many outstanding achievements during their active years. Unfortunately, 2NE1 eventually had to disband in the regret of fans and the public.
Known as the “ace” of 2NE1, CL has continued to make a name for herself as a soloist after parting ways with YG and the members. Her quality music is supported by many fans. CL is also slaying in the fashion industry. Last year, she was honored to appear at the world’s biggest fashion event, Met Gala.
After 4minute disbanded, HyunA also left Cube with her junior/boyfriend Dawn. The two’s dating story caused a stir among netizens at the time. Currently, HyunA and her boyfriend have become artists under P-Nation and continue to engage in entertainment activities.
Facing many controversies, but HyunA is still not losing her popularity. She seems to be enjoying the best time of her life as she has both a successful career and a happy personal life. She is now engaged to Dawn. Their relationship draws much admiration and fans are hoping that they will tie the knot soon.
“The nation’s first love” Suzy always overshadowed former Miss A members with her prominent popularity back when they were still promoting together. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Suzy is doing great on her own after Miss A disbanded.
Suzy achieves success both as a solo singer, CF star and most notably an actress. She has starred as the female lead in many famous dramas such as While you were sleeping, Vagabond, Start Up,… Suzy is also a top sought-after star in fashion and beauty, earning various endorsement deals with well-known brands.
Like CL, HyunA and Suzy, Seolhyun has also gained a solid foothold for herself in the industry since she was part of a group. Therefore, Seolhyun continues to be successful now that AOA has disbanded.
Besides acting, Seolhyun is also active in many other areas. With a beautiful face and attractive figure, she has been selected by countless brands. Seolhyun is currently one of the advertising queens in Korea.
After 2 years of training, Tasha debuted with SKarf and took on the role of the group’s leader. She has talent and beauty, but wasn’t lucky enough. SKarf decided to disband in 2014.
Tasha pursued a solo career but could not make any significant achievements. The female idol later gave up her passion to take on another job. “After leaving K-pop in early 2018, I decided not to work in the entertainment industry anymore. I was unemployed for a few months before taking a job as a sales manager at a Korean wholesale company,” she shared.
Climbing on top after Hani‘s legendary fancam, EXID received the public’s enthusiastic attention. Unfortunately, the talented girl group fell into a challenging situation. Deciding to leave Banana Culture, Hyerin started working part-time at a restaurant in her spare time.
“Ever since I left my previous company, I’ve started to go to sleep late and get up late. I wanted to create a reason for me to get up early in the morning. So I started working part-time at a nearby Italian restaurant. When I started that job, I made a suitable schedule for me,” the female idol shared.
“Now it’s my turn to support my mother’s dream. Mom, it’s been difficult to serve customers, but I think you’re proud to see me working hard with a beautiful heart. Everyone smiles, so it’s great for me to see them,” the female idol shared.
Han Seung Yeon
Han Seung Yeon used to be active as a member of Kara. After the group disbanded, the female idol chose a separate path and achieved admirable success.
Han Seung Yeon challenges herself in the field of real estate. That the female idol’s 6-storey building is worth up to 4.54 billion won might surprise many people.
Group disbandment is not the end of an idol’s career. Female idols can choose their own path, and whether or not they follow their dreams, fans still hope that they will live happily with their decisions.
