Father of a famous band’s vocalist, 3 years in prison for fraud of 900 million won… Arrested in court

Choi, the father of a famous band’s vocalist as well as a key figure in Former Vice Justice Minister Kim Hak Eui’s bribery case, was sentenced to 3 years in prison for fraud and arrested in court.

On Dec 15th, Suwon District Court’s Criminal Division 11 sentenced Choi to 3 years in prison on charges of fraud.

Between September and December 2017, Choi received 900 million won from Company A under the pretext of giving the right to sell local housing associations, the right to contract for civil engineering works…

However, Choi did not have the intention or ability to give these rights, such as failing to obtain distribution approval from Yongin City Hall due to financial difficulties, and was eventually brought to trial on charges of fraud.

Choi was tried without detention for about 2 years, but was arrested in court at the sentencing hearing for fear of escape.

Choi is the father of the vocalist of a famous band which is receiving great love recently.
