Fans mourn the late Moonbin in front of ASTRO’s agency building, “Thank you for being a singer” 

Fans set up a memorial space to pay tribute to the late idol singer Moonbin. The scene is very heartbreaking.

On April 20th, Moonbin’s agency Fantagio announced his passing on the 19th through their official SNS account. The company stated that all funeral procedures and interviews of mourners will be conducted privately at the request of the bereaved family.

Therefore, this action of not only Moonbin’s fans but also K-pop lovers has touched many people.

Fans created the hashtag “Thank you for being a singer” and posted it on SNS along with their affectionate messages for Moonbin. In addition, they also set up a memorial space in front of Fantagio’s building to send Moonbin off on his last journey.

According to pictures revealed by fans, letters and post-it notes for Moonbin continued to get attached to the walls of Fantagio’s building even early in the morning with dozens of white flower bouquets being placed side by side. In particular, fans also brought Moonbin’s favorite foods and snacks to the memorial place, confirming their deep love for the late idol.

Moonbin was found dead by his manager at his residence in Gangnam-gu, Seoul at around 8:10 p.m. on April 19th. The deceased’s mortuary was set up at the funeral hall of Asan Hospital in Seoul. The funeral will be held as quietly as possible with the attendance of only family members, relatives, and colleagues at 8 a.m. on the 22nd.

Moonbin was born in 1998 and he used to work as a model for children’s clothing. In particular, he appeared in TVXQ’s “Balloons” music video as Little U-know Yunho and gained attention. In 2009, he officially debuted in the entertainment industry by starring in KBS 2TV’s drama “Boys Over Flower”.

Later, Moonbin made his singing debut as a member of the boy group ASTRO in 2016. He recently formed a subunit with member Sanha and even carried out an overseas fanmeeting tour.

Moonbin’s younger sister Moon Sua is active as a member of the girl group Billlie. The two once appeared on the January broadcasts of MBC’s entertainment program “DNA Mate” together and showed off their warm brother and sister love.
