The makeup video of a Japanese idol who looks like BTS V is a hot topic online.
On September 4th, TikTok user ‘lipps_hiramika’, known as a hairstylist and makeup artist, released a video showing her transforming ‘underground idol’ & model Yellow’s Karen Shun into BTS V.
In Japan, ‘underground idols’ are those who don’t appear in media, such as TV shows, and mainly do live shows.
Karen, who already resembles V with his bare face, completely transformed into V after getting makeup done. First, makeup artist Lipps made Karen’s eyebrows look sharper. Next, she added a warm-toned eye to the bottom of Karen’s eyelid to create V’s deep eyes.
Darker eyeshadow was then added to the outer corner of Karen’s eyes to highlight V’s distinctive eye shape. She drew an eyeliner on the outside of the eyelash line and made a light outline on the nose to create the feeling of a high nose bridge like V’s. Finally, Lipps finished the makeup by applying coral pink lipstick.
Watching the video, many netizens acknowledged that Karen resembles V, saying “He looks so much like V”, “Without captions, I would have thought he was V”, “He already looks like V with his bare face”, etc. Some mentioned other stars, saying “He looks more like actor Lee Min Ki than V”, “He’s like a combination of Jung Hyuk and V”, etc.
