Fans are worried Lisa’s infections might have negative impact on BLACKPINK

Negative impact of Lisa’s infection on BLACKPINK: bad after effects, schedule cancellation, controversy

BLACKPINK is going through a temporary suspension of all schedules after Lisa was infected. As one of the most famous members of BLACKPINK, having just returned from a trip to the US, Lisa’s infection has created a lot of controversy on social networks.

It can be said that this is a “bad luck” happening to BLACKPINK at the end of the year, when the group is preparing for a comeback and the members also have many personal schedules.  Lisa‘s infection will definitely affect BLACKPINK a lot in the future as well.

1. What will Lisa’s health become after she recovers from the disease?

Lisa has had 2 doses of vaccine, and YG also confirmed that she only had mild symptoms.  However, many fans are still worried about the female idol’s health. In addition, the “post-virus syndrome” is also a concern.

The Guardian on September 13 cited the results of a study published in the medical journal Plos that about 25% of patients in the US experienced persistent symptoms after recovering from the disease. Common symptoms are headaches, stomach pain, dizziness, heart problems, cognitive decline or depression.  As a singer, Lisa’s voice and mental health are also a matter of concern.  Will the virus affect the female idol’s throat and voice?

2. Many schedules are canceled

The most recent damage is that the work of each member is affected.  All 3 BLACKPINK members have to quarantine at home and monitor their health. On November 25, Rosé was scheduled to attend a fashion event in Seoul, but she had to cancel the schedule while self-isolating at home.  Jisoo is also preparing to promote the drama “Snowdrop” in early December. It is likely that many of her personal schedules will have to be postponed or even canceled.

Not to mention other schedules that fans don’t know about. The end of the year is also the time when many music events and award ceremonies take place. This year is a successful solo year for Lisa and Rosé.  Fans are looking forward to their appearance at 2021 MAMA taking place on December 11.

If because of Lisa’s infection, she and Rosé miss the award shows, it would definitely be a big disappointment for fans. How long has it been since BLACKPINK last attended an awards ceremony?

3. The group’s comeback continues to be delayed

On November 23, BLACKPINK made BLINKs excited by reuniting after a long time of focusing on individual activities. Fans thought this was a sign that BLACKPINK’s comeback is coming soon. In a recent interview, Lisa also revealed that BLACKPINK members were back together and recording new music. However, all of a sudden, Lisa got infected with the virus, causing other members to be in self-quarantine. Needless to say, this situation will slow down the preparation progress for BLACKPINK‘s long-awaited comeback.

4. BLACKPINK is involved in more unnecessary controversy

As the most popular Kpop girl group currently, along with a large fan base, BLACKPINK also has lots of anti-fans. Anti-fans have taken advantage of the fact that Lisa got the virus to damage the group’s image.

On social media, many comments called out Lisa on partying without wearing a mask in a crowded club in the States. Some netizens even speculated that Lisa was infected during her L.A. trip 2 weeks ago.  Indeed, although it is not clear from whom Lisa was infected, the image of her clubbing during the pandemic is enough to spark controversy.

Not only Lisa, anti-fans also dragged other members of BLACKPINK. Jennie and Rosé were criticized for partying and watching basketball in the US without their masks on. As a group with a divided fandom, the fact that Jennie or Rosé getting dragged into this situation made the members’ solo stans feel annoyed and start fighting on social media.

Moreover, anti-fans also left comments mocking BLACKPINK for being “incautious”. Although they are vaccinated, they should have been more careful during overseas schedules, especially when considering the pandemic situation in the US. BLACKPINK freely hanging out in the US without wearing masks has accidentally become a negative image in the eyes of Korean netizens – who are inherently conservative. Many Korean netizens claim that the members should have strictly adhered to wearing masks, even when they are not in Korea.

5. Conclusion

Lisa getting infected is something no one wants, and fans can only wait for her to get well soon. As for BLACKPINK, dramas and controversy revolving around the YG girls seem to never end. Although Lisa will soon recover, and BLACKPINK will soon resume their activities, it is possible that in the future, anti-fans and Korean netizens will continue to bring up what happened.
