“The role I wanted to play”… “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Joo Hyun-young shared her casting story
It was revealed that actress Joo Hyun-young auditioned for the role of Choi Soo-yeon, rather than Dong Geu-ra-mi, in the drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”.
Joo Hyun-young appeared as a guest on SBS Power FM’s “Park Ha-sun’s Cinetown”, which aired on July 20th.
Joo Hyun-young shared the story behind her casting, “I auditioned for the role of Choi Soo-yeon at the first time.”
She said, “I wasn’t confident in the role of Dong Geu-ra-mi. It was difficult and burdensome because it was such a funny role. I told the writer and director that I had prepared for the role of Choi Soo-yeon, but they said that there was an actress they had in mind for Soo-yeon.”
She then explained that she overcame the pressure and joined the drama because the director encouraged her to create Dong Geu-ra-mi together.
Joo Hyun-young is acting enthusiastically as Dong Geu-ra-mi in ENA’s drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo“. On July 19th, she won the Best New Female Entertainer award at the 1st Blue Dragon Series Awards thanks to “SNL Korea”.
