A recent message from EXO member Sehun might have hinted at Baekhyun, Chen and Xiumin’s contract termination.
In the early morning of June 1st, EXO Sehun sent a message to fans, saying, “Fighting, you can do it!”, followed by, “There will be many unexpected things happening, so I hope you will have a great day”.
Later on in the same day, fellow EXO members Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin, announces their intention to terminate their exclusive contracts with SM Entertainment, citing unfair acts as well as “slave contracts”.
According to the three’s legal representatives, SM Entertainment failed to be transparent about settlement payments and tried to coerce artists into signing unreasonably long contracts using their superior position.
As a result, many fans believe that through his message, Sehun is preparing fans for the aforementioned news, which comes as unexpected for many.
On the other hand, SM Entertainment claimed that external forces have approached Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin to prompt a lawsuit, and a media outlet reported this “external force” to be BPM Entertainment.
However, BPM Entertainment has refuted such claims.
