Actor Lee Do-hyun shared behind-the-scenes stories from the filming of "Exhuma"

The distributor Showbox released Lee Do-hyun’s Q&A on February 6th, based on a making interview conducted before his enlistment. The interview reflects Lee Do-hyun’s efforts to portray the character Bong-gil realistically and his passion for the project.

Lee Do-hyun expressed his excitement about making his big screen debut, mentioning that he always imagined how he would appear on a big screen while acting on TV. He shared that filming “Exhuma” was a significant challenge and somewhat intimidating due to its scale, but he felt supported by the director and senior actors. He also discussed his interpretation of the character Bong-gil, emphasizing his human qualities beyond initial impressions.

Regarding his preparation for challenging scenes, such as speaking Japanese and reciting Buddhist scriptures, Lee Do-hyun highlighted the guidance he received from the director and senior actors. He also appreciated the opportunity to undergo a transformative physical appearance for the role.

Lee Do-hyun expressed his deep respect for director Jang Jae-hyun and gratitude for the chance to work with esteemed senior actors like Choi Min-sik, Yoo Hae-jin and Kim Go-eun. He recalled studying scenes from director Jang’s previous works for inspiration and focusing on details like language and mannerisms to maintain authenticity.

Lastly, Lee Do-hyun expressed his enjoyment of the filming process despite the challenges and urged viewers to watch “Exhuma” with high expectations. He also hoped for positive word-of-mouth to boost the film’s reception. Lee Do-hyun enlisted in the Air Force in August last year and is currently serving in the Air Force military band.
