“I’m always thankful”… Enhypen’s Jake delivered his message to fans after being exposed to have flirted with women by borrowing cigarette light
Enhypen’s Jake (Shim Jae-yoon, 19 years old) expressed his feelings regarding the controversy over “borrowing cigarette light to flirt with women”.
Jake posted a message on Enhypen’s official fan community platform Weverse in early morning of August 26th.
Jake said, “While carrying out activities, I met a lot of Engene (Enhypen’s fandom name) and was encouraged a lot by the support and love you sent me”, adding “I appreciate you all a lot and you’re so precious that I wanted to look into the eyes and hug each and every Engene.”
He continued, “I’m always not good enough to repay your love, but every day, I’m realizing how precious you are to stay by my side. I will cherish you for my whole life and I sincerely promise to repay you by showing you everything I have on the stage.”
Lastly, he said, “There are so many things in my heart that I want to say to you now, but I will continue to show you my sincerity for a long time”, adding “I’m always thankful and I love you all so much. Engene.”
Jake was recently embroiled in the controversy over “borrowing cigarettes light to flirt with women”. Netizen A posted a revelation about Jake together with photos on their Twitter account on August 23rd. They claimed, “Jake came to Itaewon with his management team on Friday night”, adding “The reason he borrowed a light for cigarettes from women was that he tried to flirt with them by opening his mask and revealing his face.”
In response, some fans presented evidence proving that the man in the picture was not Jake. Raising suspicions that A’s claim was not true, fans said, “Jake never wears slippers with socks”, “A said they saw him in June but it was May on the signboard”, etc. Jake’s agency has not made any position on the controversy.
