“Emergency Declaration”, starring Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun, Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Nam-gil, confirmed to premiere in August

Disaster movie “Emergency Declaration”, which drew keen attention from the production stage because of its spectacular cast, will be out in theaters this summer.

On June 7th, Showbox announced that the movie “Emergency Declaration” will be released in August. 

“Emergency Declaration” is the comeback film of director Han Jae-rim, who created “The King” and “The Face Reader”. It was invited to the “out of Competition” section at the 74th Cannes Film Festival.

This film tells the story of an airplane that declared a landing when facing an unprecedented disaster and the passengers on it. 

In particular, “Emergency Declaration” star all the top actors in Korea, including Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun, Jeon Do-yeon, Kim Nam-gil, Im Si-wan, Park Hae-joon, and Kim So-jin.

Jeon Do-yeon plays Sook-hee, the Minister of Transport, while Song Kang-ho takes on the role of veteran detective In-ho. Park Hae-joon will appear as Blue House Crisis Management Center director Tae-soo. 

Lee Byung-hun transforms into Jae-hyuk, a passenger on the plane together with his child. Im Si-wan also plays a passenger named Jin-seok. Meanwhile, Kim Nam-gil will return to the big screen with the role of pilot Hyun-soo, who tries to secure the safety of his passengers, and Kim So-jin will appear as Hee-jin, a flight attendant.

The poster unveiled together with the release announcement shows the desperate appearance of those trapped in an aviation disaster. In particular, the confused faces of Lee Byung-hun and Im Si-wan among the distressed passengers impress movie fans. Kim Nam-gil, who transforms into a pilot, is also shocked by the emergency situation.
