Singer-songwriter Ejae has shared behind-the-scenes photos with her fiancé, Sam Kim, following her successful performance at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On June 17, Ejae posted several photos from the event on her social media account along with the caption, “Such an extraordinary experience! Mexico City, you are beautiful.” The images captured various moments from the ceremony, including her smiling backstage with world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli and enjoying the electric atmosphere inside the stadium.

One photo in particular drew attention as it showed Ejae posing affectionately with her fiancé, Korean-American music producer Sam Kim, on the stadium field. The couple rested their cheeks together while taking a selfie, embracing naturally and sharing bright smiles.

On June 11 (local time), Ejae joined Andrea Bocelli on stage at Mexico City Stadium during the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they performed the tournament’s official theme song, “DNA.” During the performance, Ejae delivered Korean lyrics she personally wrote, including the line, “Even if I fall again, I will rise once more,” leaving a strong impression on football fans around the world.

Ejae also attracted attention for her choice of footwear during the ceremony. Instead of wearing high heels beneath her elegant dress, she opted for white sneakers. It was later revealed that she chose sneakers to help minimize damage to the stadium grass ahead of the match scheduled immediately after the opening event, earning praise from fans both in Korea and internationally.

The singer recently gained global recognition through Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters, where she provided the singing voice for the lead character Rumi and participated in composing several tracks for the soundtrack. She also co-wrote hit songs including “Golden,” further expanding her international profile.

Following the success of both KPop Demon Hunters and her World Cup opening ceremony performance, Ejae continues to strengthen her reputation as one of K-pop’s most promising next-generation singer-songwriters.
