Du Meizhu claimed that the recordings that have been spread online are fake and announced to sue malicious commenters.
On March 14th, Sina reported that Du Meizhu had filed a complaint against those who spread fake information and cyberbully her. A law firm has also been appointed to be in charge of the case on behalf of Du Meizhu.
Du Meizhu denied all the rumors of her threatening, extorting money, and slandering Wu Yifan. She insisted that the 2 recordings in which she said she didn’t have any evidence to accuse Wu Yifan of sexually harassing underage girls were all fake.
Du Meizhu claimed that there were many hidden details about Wu Yifan’s case that have not been revealed. She said, “Those who did wrong things will have to pay for their faults. I have no reason to forgive people who hurt me. I will live calmly and improve myself while waiting for the final result”.
According to Sina, Du Meizhu has been the center of attention during the past few days due to the leak of a recording tape with the conversation presumed to be between Du Meizhu and her friends. The tape was uploaded by Li En and Liu Meili, the two friends who have accompanied Du Meizhu during the time she was fighting against Wu Yifan.
According to the leaked tape, the 20-year-old girl said that there was no evidence that Kris Wu had sex with underage girls, but she still extorted $1.2 million from the male artist.
Du Meizhu, who was born in 2002, is a key witness in Kris Wu’s scandal. In July 2021, this young woman accused the male artist of having sex with many underage girls, claiming that his meaning of picking female leads for new MVs was commonly utilized to approach and sexually abuse them.
Du Meizhu said that the victim was raped by Wu Yifan when she was only 17 years old. Her accusation caused the former EXO member to be imprisoned for more than 6 months. The investigative agency currently keeps all information related to Kris Wu’s case confidential.
