Drama about homosexuality between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law premieres today (June 24th)

“Mrs. Durian”, which shocked the public by predicting homosexuality between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, will finally be unveiled today.

TV CHOSUN’s new weekend mini-series “Mrs. Durian”, which will premiere on June 24th, is a strange and beautiful fantasy melodrama.

This work tells the story of two women from a noble family in the Joseon dynasty getting entangled with men through time travel to the year 2023, the present.

Above all, “Mrs. Durian” is written by Im Sung Han, who penned “Dear Heaven”, “Miss Mermaid”, “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)”, and directed by Shin Woo Chul, who was recognized for his sensuous and outstanding directing skills through “Secret Garden” and “A Gentleman’s Dignity”.

Besides, actors with excellent acting skills such as Park Joo Mi, Choi Myung Gil, Kim Min Jun, Han Da Gam, Jeon No Min and Yoon Hae Young gathered to complete a perfect “work-director-actor” combination, making “Mrs. Durian” one of the most anticipated works in the second half of the year.

In particular, Im Sung Han is a star writer who created numerous hit works. Although each work recorded high ratings, there were also controversies over unconventional contents and unique materials. This time, writer Im dealt with the unconventional material of homosexuality.

In the second and third teasers released earlier, Jang Se Mi (Yoon Hae Young) told her mother-in-law Baek Do Yi (Choi Myung Gil), “I love you, mother. As a woman, not as a daughter-in-law.” Her confession shocked viewers.
