ITZY members shared their stories as mature idols in their 3rd year of debut, telling about their celebrity close friends and future overseas activities
Girl group ITZY took off their ‘rookie look’ and had a mature talk in the 3rd year of their debut on the radio.
On the afternoon of September 28, ITZY (Ye Ji, Lia, Ryu Jin, Chae Ryeong, and Yuna) appeared as guests in SBS radio power FM’s ‘Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time’.
During the radio, DJ Choi Hwa Jung asked ITZY, “It’s already been 3 years since your debut. You must have gotten close with many celebrities. Can I ask who they are?”. In response, ITZY members altogether answered, pointing out that the only celebrity they got close with was JYP’s producer, Park Jin Young, giving a big laugh to everyone.
In addition, Ye Ji said, “While being the MC of MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’, I became close friend with IZ*ONE Min Joo”. Chae Ryeong added laughter to the conversation by mentioning her real sister, Chae Yeon, “My best friend is IZ*ONE Lee Chae Yeon”.
ITZY has debuted for 3 years. During the mature talk, the topic of ITZY’s stage experience was also brought up. In particular, ITZY recently attracted great attention by appearing on NBC’s ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ hosted by the American pop star Kelly Clarkson.
ITZY members shared, “As we couldn’t visit the show in person due to the spread of pandemic, we tried to record the stage as perfectly as possible and sent it to them. We were really grateful that they introduced us so nicely”. They also emphasized, “In the future, we want to meet international fans in person”, raising expectations for their future overseas activities.
Moreover, ITZY members personally proved how they had changed themselves all this time. In particular, the youngest member, Yuna, who was born in 2003 and is still a minor, gave a surprising answer to a fan’s question asking what she wanted to do after becoming an adult. Yuna said, “I want to do a Lasik surgery.”
Yuna explained, “At the moment, I can’t do Lasik surgery because I’m still underage, and my eyes have not grown up enough yet. However, since I often have to wear lenses, I have dry eye syndrome, so I want to get Lasik surgery as soon as possible.”. In response to Yuna’s words, Chae Ryeong said, “I’m also waiting to do this surgery with Yuna”.
In addition, ITZY caught the eyes of the audiences and DJ Choi by performing the recently famous dance of “Hey Mama” through the viewable radio.
