On March 16th, SBS’ new Friday-Saturday drama “Dr. Romantic 3” (written by Kang Eun Kyung, Lim Hye Min, directed by Yoo In Shik, Kang Bo Seung) unveiled the scene of the script reading that took place in October last year.
“Dr. Romantic 3” is a drama depicting the stories of “real doctors” against the background of a small hospital named Doldam located in Gangwon Province. As both Season 1 in 2016 and Season 2 in 2020 received great love by exceeding the highest viewership rating of 27%, “Dr. Romantic” will return with Season 3 after 3 years.
In Season 3, many main characters of Season 2 joined, led by Han Suk Kyu, who plays the role of Kim Sa Bu (Teacher Kim). At the script reading site held in October last year, Han Suk Kyu, Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Sung Kyung, Jin Kyung, Im Won Hee, Byun Woo Min, Kim Joo Hun, Yoon Na Moo, Shin Dong Wook, So Joo Yeon, Go Sang Ho, Yoon Bo Ra, Jung Ji Ahn, Lee Shin Young and Lee Hong Nae gathered. Kim Min Jae, who confirmed his appearance, was unfortunately unable to participate due to his schedule, but sent his support.
The actors, who reunited after three years, expressed their affection for the “Dr. Romantic” series with a welcome greeting.

As the script reading began in earnest, the scene turned into a lively atmosphere unique to Doldam Hospital. Han Suk Kyu exuded the unparalleled charisma of Master Kim, an eternal mentor of Doldam and a genius doctor. Ahn Hyo Seop also revealed the strong presence of Seo Woo Jin, a GS expert who is one of the pillars of Doldam. Meanwhile, Lee Sung Kyung transformed into Cha Eun Jae, who overcame her fear of surgery and grew into a competent CS specialist.
The cast members behind other Dodam staff also boasted a strong sense of teamwork. In particular, Jin Kyung plays Oh Myung Sim, Byun Woo Min plays Nam Do Il, Yoo Na Moo plays anesthesiologist Jeong In Soo, Shin Dong Wook plays orthopedic surgeon Bae Moon Jeong, and Um Hyun Jung plays Jung Ji Ahn. Kim Joo Hun, who confronted Master Kim in Season 2 as Park Min Gook, has joined hands with Master Kim since season 3.
The story of Doldam Hospital, which became more spectacular than season 2, was filled with realistic acting by experienced actors. When Master Kim’s representative line was said, everyone burst into exclamations and immersed themselves in the urgent situation.
In addition, the characters played by newly joined Lee Shin Young and Lee Hong Nae created an exciting relationship with “Doldam” and raised expectations for the story of season 3.
