“Dr. Romantic 3” Jin Kyung once again proves that no one can play head nurse Oh Myung Sim better than her
Actress Jin Kyung drew admiration for her acting performance as head nurse Oh Myung Sim in the “Dr. Romantic” series.
Episode 15 of SBS’s Fri-Sat drama “Dr. Romantic 3”, which aired on June 16th, showed Jin Kyung impressively portraying a head nurse who is sometimes a strict and reliable leader, sometimes a considerate and lovely colleague, and sometimes a fierce and unwavering problem solver.
Despite the urgent situation of a wildfire spreading towards Doldam Hospital, Jin Kyung’s character Oh Myung Sim faces a patient who stubbornly insists on receiving treatment during evacuation so she shouts, “Let go of your hand! Can’t you see that the wildfire is spreading right now? Didn’t you hear the alarm? We don’t have enough time even if we follow the order and evacuate, and yet here you are, grabbing a doctor by the collar and causing a mess? What are you thinking about?”. Her firm remark in the scene thrilled all viewers.
In addition, her heartfelt confession, saying “All those injured people lying there were the ones who got hurt while trying to save you. Isn’t it unfair to prioritize patients in such critical situations? How can you ruthlessly ignore the sacrifices of others?”, touched the hearts of many people.
Jin Kyung’s expression as Oh Myung Sim when rejecting the proposal to nurse juniors who boycott the operation method of doctor Kang Dong Joo (Yoo Yeon Seok) after he returned as the trauma center director captivated viewers. She cheered for the juniors and said, “I will fill in the gap, so don’t worry and raise your voice if you feel the system unreasonable”.
She also showed her considerate side by advising Kang Dong Joo, who is having a conflict with Woo Jin (Ahn Hyo Seop), saying “What we need right now is not a hero, but a leader who can bring us all together. Someone who says ‘Let’s go together’ instead of ‘Follow me’.”
In all seasons of the “Dr. Romantic” series, Jin Kyung always left deep impressions on the audience with her power and determination when facing injustice as well as her warm empathy towards patients and colleagues.
Jin Kyung, who has been playing a crucial role at Doldam Hospital since Season 1, expressed her feelings prior to the last broadcast of Season 3 through her agency YG Entertainment. The actress shared, “I feel strange knowing that I have to part ways with the actors I’ve been with like a family. I’m grateful and happy to have received huge love from many people and successfully completed the drama”. She added, “If this drama has brought even a little comfort to all of you, I couldn’t ask for more. I hope everyone always stays healthy and happy.”
Meanwhile, Jin Kyung will return to the small screen in the second half of this year with the role of Min Hye Sook, a greedy evil woman who tries to get everything she wants in MBC’s drama “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract”.
