Disney Korea revealed various reasons why they chose NewJeans Danielle to be the dubbing voice for “The Little Mermaid” live action

Recently, Disney Korea announced they have selected NewJeans Danielle as the voice dubbing Ariel in the Korean dubbed version for “The Little Mermaid”.

They explained they decided to cast her after taking into account her singing and dialogue delivery skills, which are fitting for the role of Ariel. Disney also added, “It was not an easy challenge to perform Korean songs and lines according to Ariel’s English mouthing and timing on the screen of ‘The Little Mermaid,’ but it drew a good response from those involved”.

Moreover, from Disney Korea’s perspective, they believe that Danielle can bring out “Ariel’s charm of a bright and curious teenage girl”.

On the same day, Disney Korea also released two of Danielle’s live performances of “The Little Mermaid” OST, “Part of Your World”, showing of the idol’s unique, lively, and clear voice.

“The Little Mermaid” is a Disney musical movie based on the animation of the same name, which features a mermaid named Ariel and her desire to reach the shore and live as a human.

The movie will hit theaters in Korea on May 24th.
