Despite the romantic chemistry between Song Hye-kyo and Jang Ki-yong, “Now, We’re Breaking Up”’s rating still dropped
Actors Song Hye-kyo and Jang Ki-yong’s breakup romance series “Now, We’re Breaking Up” recorded its lowest ratings.
An episode of SBS’s “Now, We’re Breaking Up”, which aired on Jan 1st, has recorded the series’ lowest viewer rating of 4.2% (based on Nielsen Korea).
Following right after “One The Woman,” “Now, We’re Breaking Up” was considered the most anticipated work in the second half of last year after news broke that Song Hye-kyo and Jang Ki-yong, who are the rating guarantee stickers of drama series, would work together.
As expectations were high, “Now, We’re Breaking Up” seemed to be cruising with a 6.4% viewer rating in the first episode and 8% viewer rating in the second episode, but only recorded 7% in the third to sixth episodes.
Since then, “Now, We’re Breaking Up,” barely continued its 6% viewership before plunging to 4% in the 13th episode just before the end of the show.
Meanwhile, MBC’s “The Red Sleeve”, which aired at the same time, was praised as an all-time well-made historical drama, causing a fatal blow.
“The Red Sleeve” exceeded the 10% viewer rating and recorded the highest viewer rating of 17.4%, which further embarrassed “Now, We’re Breaking Up”’s low rating.
With “The Red Sleeve” ending on Jan 1st, the viewers are focusing on whether “Now, We’re Breaking Up” will be able to rebound in terms of ratings a day before the end of the series.
