While “The Glory” has been a global sensation with most of its cast members receiving favorable reviews, one major actor is staying silent. That’s actor Lee Do Hyun, who played the role of Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo)’s revenge assistant, Joo Yeo Jeong, in the drama. Not only leaving little impression among the cast of “The Glory”, the actor also did not participate in any interview after the drama ended.

The character Joo Yeo Jeong portrayed by Lee Do Hyun is a plastic surgeon who decides to become an “executioner” and helps Moon Dong Eun seek revenge against her school violence perpetrators. He gives anesthesia to the main bully Park Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon) during a procedure and uses that opportunity to make her confess her crimes.

On the other hand, Joo Yeo Jeong wants to take revenge against the murderer who killed his father. As a doctor, Joo Yeo Jeong’s father saved a heinous criminal, only to be murdered by him. As the son of the victim, it is difficult for Joo Yeo Jeong to forgive the murderer, especially when said murderer show no remorse and continues to torment him by sending letters depicting his father’s murder.

It can thus, be seen that Joo Yeo Jeong is a complex character with complicated inner emotions. In addition, he also goes through mixed emotions of sympathy, love, and solidarity towards Moon Dong Eun in the drama.

However, Lee Do Hyun failed to fully immerse himself in “The Glory” and was unable to portray the multi-faceted aspect of Joo Yeo Jeong convincingly. In short, he did not fulfill his role as a lead actor in “The Glory” and also seems to fall behind his co-star Song Hye Kyo in acting.

Lee Do Hyun also missed the opportunity to share thoughts and stories about his experiences of working on “The Glory”. Other actors, such as Lim Ji Yeon, Cha Joo Young, and Kim Hieora, who received praise for their performances, had interviews, but Lee Do Hyun did not arrange any interviews with the media, unlike his fellow co-stars.

Lee Do Hyun made his debut through tvN’s “Prison Playbook” in 2017. Since his debut, Lee Do Hyun has mostly appeared in successful works, such as “18 Again”, “Hotel del Luna”, “Sweet Home”, “Youth of May”, and “The Glory”. Most top stars would participate in promotional activities for their works and greet the public through interviews before the end of dramas or movie releases. However, the last time Lee Do Hyun had an interview related to his work was for Netflix’s “Sweet Home”, which was released in December 2020.

Despite his success, Lee Do Hyun is said to have shown an insincere attitude. This makes many people question whether he is responsible enough while receiving such popularity from his successful works.
