Despite having an explosive first comeback, “Monster Rookie” IVE still received mixed opinions from netizens.

IVE’s new song has received mixed reviews.

After a successful debut with the single “Eleven”, the Starship’s girl group had their first comeback with a Dark Modern Pop song “Love Dive”. The lyric re-enacts a new generation Cupid which shows the spirit “Gen Z Wannabe” of IVE.

“Love Dive“ contains the encouraging message that if you have the courage to love, do it. The song was produced by Sophia Brennan, Elle Campbell, Nick Hahn and the choreography was created by Freemind Chae Dasom & team Lachica.

The MV was a success with great visuals and soothing melody. However, it was complained about by the public because of its length. The song was too short that the fans couldn’t fully enjoy it. 

• This 3-minute-long MV is too short. I feel this is like a gift that IVE wanted to give to the fans. For me, this song is not as catchy as “Eleven”. In return, the concept is more mature and the choreography, which is likely to be viral, is really sexy. 
• The girls didn’t have the chance to sing much in this song. The instrumental got its spot.
• The instrumental has overpowered the singing part.
• I can’t remember anything but Leeseo’s part.
• Momoland version 2. (implying one-hit wonder)
• Impressive choreography and the verse 2’s chorus of Leeseo, but the rest is normal. This song is not as good as “‘Eleven”. However, I wish the group a successful comeback.
• Imma give the group 10 points for the visuals.
