According to the report, Kang Min Kyung’s father and brother ran a real estate development company together.

Investors recently filed a complaint with the Busan Yeonje Police in 2017, claiming that Kang Min Kyung’s father and brother deceived them to sign a real estate development contract of 1.2 billion won by telling them that the two would develop forest land in Gyeonggi Province within two years but failed to keep their promise.

The complainants invested in the forest land known to be owned by Kang Min Kyung’s brother through the director of an auction institute in Busan. They revealed that they were deceived to believe in the real estate development agreement that said “The land in this contract will be developed into residential land within two years, otherwise we will repay twice the principal for land development”.

However, the land was not developed even after 6 years. When the head of the auction academy was arrested for fraud, the investors reportedly protested against Kang Min Kyung’s father and requested him to carry out the contract.

The complainants added that Kang Min Kyung’s father verbally promised to “repurchase the investment or compensate by other land“, but he did not keep this promise.

Kang Min Kyung’s father said, “I didn’t know who they were when I first received the investment. I signed a contract with the head of the auction academy, then people whom I didn’t know came and asked for money. I didn’t make any promises. It was something that came up while discussing ideas.”

Meanwhile, Kang Min Kyung’s father countersued 5 accusers for defamation.
