Not every kissing scene on the Korean screen is romantic!
Recently, EXO’s D.O (Do Kyung Soo) and Park Hye Soo had an unpleasant experience while filming a kissing scene in the movie “Swing Kids.” Both of them admitted that the on-screen kiss looked quite humorous, but behind the scenes, it was quite painful. D.O even used the word “dangerous” to describe this seemingly romantic scene.
In one scene from “Swing Kids,” D.O and Park Hye Soo had a kiss due to an accident. Accordingly, his character was forced to kiss Park Hye Soo’s character while getting stepped on from the back.
The actor revealed that getting stepped on from the back was quite painful, especially for his teeth, as his entire face was pressed against the face of his co-star. Park Hye Soo herself admitted that this scene was terrifying and much more difficult than it appeared. She also felt uncomfortable having to redo this scene dozens of times.
“During the scene, we were supposed to portray a decent amount of uncomfort, but we looked either like we hated it or enjoyed it a little bit, so we had to film it multiple times.” Park Hye Soo said.
Fortunately, both of them were able to complete the scene despite the pain. D.O also praised Park Hye Soo, considering her like a “younger sister” as he thought they were able to film in a fun atmosphere thanks to her acting talent and open personality.
Later on, “Swing Kids” received recognition from industry experts with three Baeksang nominations and eight Blue Dragon nominations, further enhancing EXO member D.O’s acting journey. Park Hye Soo herself was honored as “Swing Kids” was only her second film project.
