Cristiano Ronaldo has once again shown his compassionate side by sending a heartfelt message to Andres Mieles, a young survivor of the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela, and promising to invite the boy to watch him play once he recovers.

Just one day after helping Portugal secure a place in the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 41-year-old football legend made headlines for an act of kindness away from the pitch. Ronaldo recorded a special video message for Andres, who survived the deadly earthquake that hit Venezuela in late June.

In the video, the Portugal captain encouraged the young fan with warm words: “Hi Andres. I wanted to send you this video and give you a big hug because I know you’re a huge supporter of mine. Once you’re feeling better, I’d like to invite you to one of my matches so we can enjoy it together. Deal? I can’t wait to meet you.”

The touching message brought a smile to Andres, who is currently receiving treatment at Dr. Miguel Perez Carreno Hospital in Caracas.

The boy was rescued from the rubble after the powerful earthquake but tragically lost several family members in the disaster. Due to the severity of his injuries, doctors were forced to amputate one of his legs.

Andres’ story touched millions after it was revealed that, following his rescue, his greatest wish was to recover a Cristiano Ronaldo trading card that had been lost during the earthquake. A Venezuelan musician helped deliver the boy’s message to Ronaldo, who responded almost immediately.

On July 2, Ronaldo’s trading card was delivered to the hospital. Overwhelmed with emotion, Andres admitted he “couldn’t believe” he had actually received such a special gift.

According to official figures released by the Venezuelan government, the June 24 earthquake claimed the lives of 2,645 people. More than 6,000 individuals were rescued, around 86,000 families received emergency assistance, and approximately 15,000 people remain displaced after losing their homes.
