“Concrete Utopia” director, “Park Seo Joon’s controversy? The stage greeting’s atmosphere was good”

Director Um Tae Hwa of the movie “Concrete Utopia” expressed a cautious stance on Park Seo Joon’s controversy that arose in the previous stage greeting.

When asked about Park Seo Joon’s controversy in an interview with “Sports Kyunghyang” in Jongno-gu, Seoul on August 8th, director Um Tae Hwa replied, “We exchanged text messages yesterday. I told him, ‘Our stage greeting’s atmosphere was good and we did well, so let’s work happily like now.’

Director Um added, “Park Seo Joon also thinks very well and is satisfied with this work. I also want to do well as I do now.

Earlier, Park Seo Joon caused controversy due to his insincere attitude when he refused to wear a Nick Judy couple headband given by a fan during the stage greeting of “Concrete Utopia” on August 5th.

Regarding this, Park Seo Joon posted on his official fan cafe on August 7th, “I’m leaving this post because I was concerned that some people might have been hurt by this. When I first found out about this situation, I was taken aback and frustrated. I worried that fans might be more upset than I am.”

He explained, “I was sweating a lot during the event. Some fans like my hair down, while others like it up. So, today, I went with an updo and sprayed a lot of hairspray in the morning for easier sweat management. To the extent that it wouldn’t move at all, I fixed it. If I wear anything on my head in that state, my scalp hurts quite a bit. It might sound like an excuse, but I handle these things without any hesitation.

He added, “I didn’t think the headband was mine, and since it was given by a fan of (Park) Bo Young, I thought it might make the fan uncomfortable if I took it. There seems to have been a misunderstanding.”
