Chris Pratt (46), star of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series, has come under heavy fire after publicly mourning the death of Charlie Kirk, a close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, who was killed in a shooting.
On September 10 (local time), Pratt posted on his personal social media: “Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God help us.”

However, many U.S. netizens reacted with fury. Comments included: “Did you pray for the families of the Denver school shooting victims?”, “I hope you get fired from Marvel,” and “What about the kids who were shot dead at school today?”
Pratt has long faced allegations of being a Trump supporter. His ties to a far-right church have been cited as evidence, and controversy deepened in October 2020 when nearly all of his Avengers co-stars attended a fundraising event for then-Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, but Pratt was notably absent.

Meanwhile, Charlie Kirk (31), founder and head of the pro-Trump conservative group Turning Point USA, was fatally shot at a U.S. university event.
President Trump announced Kirk’s death on Truth Social, calling him “great and legendary.” He added: “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
