Using Ma Dong Seok’s photo to get better response? A Chinese trend has reached the actor
Actor Ma Dong Seok mentioned the phenomenon of his photos being used as profile pictures in China.
In China, using Ma Dong Seok’s photo as online profile picture is spreading like a trend.
The Guardian reported, “Growing number of Chinese social media users find using Korean American actor Ma Dong Seok’s image as avatar gets better response.”
In a recent interview with Herald POP at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Ma Dong Seok confessed that he heard that his photos are being used as profile pictures in China.
Ma Dong Seok said, “I laughed when I heard that story.”
He then caused laughter by emphasizing, “I found it strange because I didn’t think I’m rough-looking. I’m still wondering even now.“
Meanwhile, the movie “The Roundup: No Way Out” starring Ma Dong Seok depicts the story of detective Ma Seok Do (Ma Dong Seok) joining the Metropolitan Investigation Team led by Jang Tae Soo (Lee Beom Soo) to eradicate Joo Seong Cheol (Lee Joon Hyuk), the son of a rich business family who forms an alliance with some Japanese gangsters to commit heinous crimes across Korea. It will be released on May 31st.
