The Glory,” hailed as the best K-drama of 2023, has garnered praise from both critics and audiences. It’s even earned a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Song Hye Kyo’s exceptional performance in the series helped her take home Best Actress at Baeksang 2023.

Now, China is reportedly about to put its own spin on “The Glory”. According to QQ, TVB has taken charge of this adaptation, renaming it “Black Moon.” The main character Moon Dong Eun, portrayed by Song Hye Kyo, will now be taken on by Tavia Yeung, marking her return to the small screen after a six-year hiatus.

While Tavia Yeung has considerable experience playing roles centered around women’s empowerment and intelligent, strong female characters, there’s one aspect where she’s perceived to fall short compared to Song Hye Kyo – her looks.

In her 40s, Tavia Yeung has shown the natural signs of aging, which has raised questions about her ability to portray the scene where the female lead is still a student. This casting choice has caused some audiences to express their doubts.

QQ also revealed that Rosina Lam will take on the role of the main villain Park Yeon Jin in the Chinese adaptation. Interestingly, Rosina Lam and Tavia Yeung have previously worked together. Rosina expressed her excitement about working with her senior once again, saying, “I am really looking forward to filming with her again!

Tavia Yeung was originally slated to star in TVB’s “The Queen of News,” but she later rejected the offer. TVB eventually chose Selena Lee Sze Wah as her replacement. According to QQ, the Chinese version of “The Glory” is set to begin filming in December this year.
