Charlie Puth Sends Goodbye to BTS’s Jungkook, Who is Enlisting

Ahead of BTS’s Jungkook’s enlistment, his close friend and pop star Charlie Puth sent a message

On December 11 (KST), BTS’s Jungkook took everyone by surprise as he appeared asa virtual guest on Charlie Puth’s TikTok Live Stage, and the two performed “Left and Right” together. It is known that this is Jungkook’s last performance before enlisting.

Later on on December 12 (KST), which is the day of BTS’s Jungkook’s enlistment, Charlie Puth took to SNS platform X (formerly Twitter) with a message reflecting on their friendship.

In particular, the American pop star wrote, “I want to thank Jung Kook for joining us on stage virtually last night. It is a very full circle moment- from discovering his WDTA cover, to performing together in 2018 for the first time, and he wanted his final performance was with me! I feel very lucky and I can’t wait to perform with him again when he is back. Thank you to BTS and the BTS army for all the love and support always. I will see you soon JK.”

(“WDTA” is referring to Charlie Puth’s song “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, “BTS ARMY” refers to the fandom of BTS, while “JK” refers to Jungkook)

On the other hand, Jungkook has been an avid fan of Charlie Puth since early days in his career, and the male idol’s cover of “We Don’t Talk Anymore” gained huge attention. In 2018, Jungkook and Charlie Puth had the chance to perform “We Don’t Talk Anymore” together at the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards, and from here have striked a close friendship.

In 2022, Jungkook and Charlie Puth released the collaboration song “Left and Right”, gaining massive attention for their closeness.
