According to QQ, former ATV actor Chan Chi Keung has passed away at the age of 59. The Hong Kong star rose to fame in the 1990s and was best known for portraying Zhan Zhao in the ATV television series Legendary Yang’s Family. His tall frame and handsome appearance earned him recognition and popularity among audiences during the golden age of Hong Kong television.

Chan’s wife, Fong Tam Yuen, released an obituary confirming his passing. Although the actor died on October 21, his family only recently disclosed the news to the public.

Former ATV actress Bowie Kei Ting expressed her shock upon learning about Chan’s death through media reports in an interview with Sing Tao Daily.

“I only found out from the news. It’s truly unfortunate. He was still so young,” she said.

While Bowie Kei Ting never worked directly with Chan, she shared that her husband had played golf with him on several occasions. She added that it had been many years since they last saw him, and she wasn’t even aware that he was married. Her husband’s golf club reportedly plans to reach out to Chan’s family to offer condolences and assistance.

Chan Chi Keung began his career after winning a modeling competition in 1991, which paved the way for his entry into the entertainment industry. He joined ATV shortly thereafter and appeared in several notable dramas, including Legendary Yang’s Family and The Smiling, Proud Wanderer, establishing himself as one of the station’s promising stars.

In 2009, Chan retired from acting to pursue business ventures. He transitioned into the food and beverage industry, managing operations in Shenzhen and Shanghai before eventually returning to Hong Kong.

Though he left showbiz more than a decade ago, his contributions to ATV’s classic era remain fondly remembered by longtime viewers. Chan’s untimely death has prompted an outpouring of grief and nostalgia across Hong Kong’s entertainment community.
