On May 19, a media talk event for tvN’s new variety show “Kill It: Style Creator Showdown” (hereafter “Kill It”) was held at the CJ ENM Talent Studio in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by model-actress Jang Yoon Ju, actress Cha Jung Won, model Ahn Ahreum, and CP Lee Won Hyung.

First aired on May 12, “Kill It” is a fashion creator survival program designed to discover the next generation of trendsetters leading K-fashion. CJ ENM, the company behind successful fashion survival shows such as “Korea’s Next Top Model” and “Project Runway Korea”, launched the new project to reflect the evolving fashion industry. Moving beyond traditional designer- and model-centered competitions, the show focuses on finding creators who lead trends, communicate with the public, and shape culture.

Cha Jung Won, who joined the program as a mentor for the White Label team, shared her thoughts on appearing in the show. She said, “It’s been such a long time since I’ve done a variety show, and because it’s a survival program, I was very nervous and prepared a lot. Since I love fashion, it was enjoyable and exciting to do something I truly like.”

She also revealed that Ha Jung Woo had been supportive of her appearance on the show. Speaking about his reaction, she shared, “He watched the first episode. He monitored it carefully and gave me a lot of support and encouragement.”

When CP Lee Won Hyung asked what kind of advice Ha Jung Woo specifically gave her, Cha Jung Won answered, “He told me not to be too nervous, to stay comfortable, say what I really think, and show myself as I am.”

Hearing this, Black Label mentor Jang Yoon Ju jokingly commented, “From what I’ve seen, Ha Jung Woo’s styling definitely fits the Black Label. He should join our team.” Her playful remark drew laughter from the audience. In response, Cha Jung Won added, “He really does suit the Black Label style. He only wears black.”

Meanwhile, Cha Jung Won publicly confirmed her relationship with Ha Jung Woo in April. At the time, the couple was also swept up in marriage rumors, but both sides clarified that “nothing has been decided regarding marriage.”
