Cha Eunwoo Plays a Character with Visual Appeal Once Again in “A Good Day To Be a Dog”, Promises an Upgrade from “True Beauty”

Cha Eunwoo is back in the new rom-com “A Good Day To Be a Dog,” promising an upgraded performance of his “visual acting”

In MBC’s new drama “A Good Day To Be A Dog,” Cha Eunwoo plays Jin Seowon, a math teacher with a striking visual appeal. This has raised concerns that the role may once again focus on Cha Eunwoo’s flawless appearance rather than showcasing his acting skills, which have long been a subject of debate.

On October 11th, at the press conference for the drama, Cha Eunwoo was asked about his thoughts on taking on a role that once again emphasizes visuals.

He responded, “Rather than feeling pressured, I am grateful. I have coincidentally worked on many webtoon-based dramas. There’s a lot to learn from them, and I have a desire to take on new challenges. I have a lot more to show in the future.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “A Good Day To Be A Dog” portrays the love story between Han Haena (Park Gyuyoung), who is cursed to turn into a dog when kissed, and Jin Seowon (Cha Eunwoo), the only one who can break the curse. However, Jin Seowon is afraid of dogs.

Cha Eunwoo is returning to the romantic comedy genre after a two-year hiatus following “True Beauty”. Regarding this, Cha Eunwoo said, “I had many concerns when I received the offer. I had an honest discussion with the director about it. I want to show an upgraded version of myself compared to ‘True Beauty.’ Even if the genre is the same, I’ll express it in a more enjoyable way.”

He continued, “The synchronization rate between Jin Seowon and myself is about 70%. When meeting someone for the first time or when in an awkward situation, I can also be cautious and even give off a cold impression.”

Cha Eunwoo added, “Seowon overcomes his trauma through Haena. I thought about, ‘At what point does change begin?’ and while acting, I expressed the process of breaking down those barriers little by little through my facial expressions and gaze.”

“A Good Day To Be A Dog” premieres at 9:00 PM KST on October 11.
