Cha Eun-woo to enter Hollywood with “K-Pop: Lost In America”

According to the film industry on July 1st, Cha Eun-woo recently received an offer to appear in “K-Pop: Lost In America” (directed by Yoon Je-kyun/co-produced by CJ Group’s Vice Chairman Lee Mi-kyung and Hollywood producer Lynda Obst) and is discussing it positively. “K-Pop: Lost In America” (working title) follows a breaking K-pop group that finds themselves mistakenly stranded in Texas just days before their American debut at New York. Left with no phones, no money and no transportation, the group must overcome their differences and a host of crazy obstacles to make it to New York. “K-Pop: Lost In America” drew attention from the planning as it is co-produced by CJ Group’s Vice Chairman Lee Mi-kyung and Hollywood producer Lynda Obst of “Interstellar”, “Sleepless in Seattle” as well as directed by director Yoon Je-kyun of “Tidal Wave”, “Ode to My Father”.

The production team has been preparing for casting actors to play K-pop roles in the movie in various ways, including auditions. After many discussions and processes, Cha Eun-woo, a K-pop idol who has acting skills, was chosen as the main character. Cha Eun-woo, who appeared in the drama “True Beauty” and the movie “My Brilliant Life”, will enter the U.S. market as not only a K-pop idol but also an actor.

Rebel Wilson is a well-known actress in Korea for her roles in “Isn’t It Romantic”, “The Hustle” and “Jojo Rabbit”. Charles Melton starred in the TV series “Riverdale” and the movie “The Sun Is Also a Star”.
