‘Castaway Diva’ Director Praises Park Eun-bin, “She Prepared For The Role Carefully And Sincerely”

“Castaway Diva” director Oh Chung-hwan revealed the reason he cast Park Eun-bin

The press conference for tvN’s new Sat-Sun drama “Castaway Diva” was held online on October 19th. Director Oh Chung-hwan, and the cast, including Park Eun-bin, Kim Hyo-jin, Chae Jong-hyeop, Cha Hak-yeon and Kim Joo-heon, attended the event.

“Castaway Diva” tells about the challenge of aspiring singer Seo Mok-ha (Park Eun-bin), who was rescued from an uninhabited island after 15 years.

At the press conference, director Oh Chung-hwan said, “The casting for the role of the diva determined the color and the direction of this drama. Park Eun-bin was the only person who could play that role”.

He explained, “I wondered how many actors would be able to have the energy to portray the positive power of Mok-ha and persuade viewers. To play Mok-ha, the actor has to sing and practice a special dialect. They must also dance and do many things.”

Director Oh continued, “I wanted Park Eun-bin to play that role, so I sent her an offer. She really surprised me during our first meeting”. He added, “When she read the script, I could feel that she prepared it very carefully and sincerely. She wrote her thoughts about the characters and questions in a small notebook. At that moment, I realized that it would be a big trouble if I didn’t cast this actress, so I tried to persuade her. Fortunately, she agreed to join. It was an unforgettable day for me.”

“Castaway Diva” will air the first episode at 9:20 p.m. on October 18th.
