In the meantime, the production team released an unexpected two-shot image of the lead actors Jo Jung-suk and Shin Se-kyung on December 21st. Through the gap between the clothes, the real identities of Grand Prince Jo Jung-suk and Shin Se-kyung disguising herself as a man as they meet as baduk players are revealed. The two’s 180-degree transformations are already raising the tension.

Jo Jung-suk’s charismatic image as King Yi In in the picture drew attention from netizens. Wearing a red dragon robe, the actor exuded a powerful aura of the King with his determined eyes. Despite his fierce look as the person in the highest position, he’s a lonely and humble king. Especially, the line, “I have been captivated by you, just as you are captivated by me”, reveals the secret behind the King after falling in love with the spy.

The blurry image of Shin Se-kyung’s appearance as Kang Hee-soo when dressing as a man and becoming a baduk player is also impressive. Despite her beautiful and elegant beauty, Shin Se-kyung’s cold eyes when looking at Jo Jung-suk make viewers wonder what story she will tell. In addition, the line “I want to live in love and die in hatred”, stimulates anticipation for Kang Hee-soo’s intense moves as she approaches the King secretly for revenge while concealing her emotions.

Meanwhile, tvN’s new Sat-Sun drama “Captivating the King” was directed by Cho Nam-guk, who has been recognized for his directing skills through “The Good Detective”, and written by Kim Sun-deok, who opened the door for tvN’s historical dramas with “The Crowned Clown”.
