Billboard Hot 100 for the first week of 2022 has been announced, along with the domination for the 3rd week in a row of the Christmas massive hit All I Want For Christmas Is You, Billboard also brings great news for BTS fans in general and fans of member V in particular.

Specifically, V‘s solo OST “Christmas Tree” officially debuted on Billboard Hot 100 at #79. This is the original soundtrack for SBS’s drama Our Beloved Summer with a sweet melody, expressed through V’s warm vocals that melt fans’ hearts. A perfect song to listen to during the cozy holiday seasons. V also made history as “Christmas Tree” is the first Korean OST to make it into Billboard Hot 100.

V also became the 3rd BTS member to own a solo song that debuted on this world’s most prestigious music chart.  Before that, Suga’s Daechwita (with rap name Agust D) debuted at #76 while J-Hope‘s Chicken Noodle Soup debuted at #81.  In addition, the song “Christmas Tree” also debuted at #1 on this week’s Digital Song Sales Chart.

On social media, besides the positive comments from the BTS fandom, there are also sarcastic comments about the Christmas Tree stream.  However, fans think that for a soundtrack song in Korean without promotion, without radio pusn, it’s too good an achievement for it to enter the Hot 100.

2021 has been a very successful year for BTS with a series of hits reaching the Billboard Hot 100 such as Butter, Permission To Dance, My Universe,… as well as countless international activities.  The group’s 2022 also started with good news in the first days of the year.  In 2022, will the remaining 4 boys be able to enter the Billboard Hot 100 as solo artist?
