BTS’s Jungkook highlighted as the most famous K-pop idol in the US on the cover of The Netizens Report

BTS’s Jungkook was featured as the most famous K-pop idol in the US in the July 2022 issue of The Netizens Report, an American magazine that is serialized twice a year, every six months.

Jungkook was introduced by The Netizens Report as “Jungkook” rather than “BTS’s Jungkook”, emphasizing his strong popularity as an individual rather than a group member.

The cover of The Netizens Report July issue also features Elon Musk, Will Smith, and Kim Kardashian among the Top 50 Most Famous People in America of 2022.

The Netizens Report wrote about Jungkook, “Jungkook seems to be the most popular face in the US for years. When you ask American K-pop fans the name of a K-pop idol they know, the name ‘Jungkook’ is often the first or second.”

“It has been proven by statistics for several years. Jungkook’s name is at the top of Google search and YouTube search,” The Netizens Report added, stressing Jungkook’s top-tier influence and popularity based on data and statistics on YouTube and Google, the world’s largest search engines.

Jungkook is especially loved by American magazines as one of BTS‘s most popular members. He was selected by People magazine as one of the “Sexiest International Men of 2020” and by Esquire as one of the “Most Memorable Personalities of 2020”.

The Netizens Report said that the reasons fans love Jungkook are his voice, determination to succeed, passion, and fashion sense.

Finally, The Netizens Report commented, “One thing is for sure, Jungkook’s popularity in the US is increasing.”

The single “Left and Right”, marking the collaboration between Jungkook and American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth released on June 24th, entered the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks in a row. This made Jungkook the first and longest-charting K-pop idol on Billboard Hot 100.

As of July 30, 2022, in the fourth week of its release, “Left and Right” ranked No. 21 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart, No. 15 on Global 200, No. 10 on Global (excluding the US), No. 22 on Pop Airplay, No. 21 in Adult Pop Airplay, No. 5 in Mexico Airplay, No. 1 in the Philippines, No. 3 in Singapore, and No. 4 in Indonesia.

“Left and Right” also made it to the prestigious UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 for four consecutive weeks.

Jungkook is the most searched K-pop idol on Google for 5 consecutive years, the most searched K-pop idol on YouTube worldwide for 5 consecutive years, and the most searched K-pop idol on Pinterest in the US, UK, and Canada. He is also the No. 1 K-Pop Star on Tumblr for 3 consecutive years (2018-2020), ranked 1st in 2017 and 2018 as the ‘Most Retweeted Person in Korea’, 1st in ‘World’s Most Retweeted Tweet in 2019’, 2nd in ‘World’s Most Retweeted Tweet’ in 2020, and records the highest worldwide personal views on TikTok, showing unparalleled global fame.
