BTS’s Jin departs for France today (July 11th) for the Olympic torch relay
BTS's Jin, who has been selected as a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics, will depart on July 11th
According to Star News, Jin is scheduled to board a flight to France from Incheon International Airport this morning. This comes nine days after the announcement of his participation in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics torch relay on July 2nd.
The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics is set to open on July 26th (local time). The torch relay, which began last April in Olympia, Greece, will travel through 64 regions, including city centers and coastal areas in France, until the opening day.
Upon arrival, Jin will participate in the torch relay, spreading messages of “unity” and “peace”. This role as a torchbearer for one of the world’s largest sports events highlights the unique status of BTS once again. Fans are eagerly anticipating the sight of Jin running with the torch.
BTS, known as the “21st-century pop icon”, has left a significant mark on the music industry. As a global artist, BTS has practiced positive influence through activities such as delivering speeches at the UN General Assembly twice and continuing the “LOVE MYSELF” campaign with UNICEF Korea since 2017.
Meanwhile, Jin has begun his activities in earnest after completing his military service on June 12th. As the first member of BTS to finish military service, he attended the 2024 FESTA, an event commemorating BTS’s debut, held in Songpa-gu, Seoul. He also filmed MBC’s entertainment program “Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island” with his close friend, Chef Lee Yeon-bok, at the end of last month.
