BTS’s humble beginnings revisited amid FIFTY FIFTY’s contract controversy

During their rookie days, BTS lived in a dorm with bunk beds crammed into one room.

The first hearing for the injunction to suspend the exclusive contract between FIFTY FIFTY and their agency Attrakt has sparked controversy.

FIFTY FIFTY claims “loss of trust” and insufficient human and material resources for entertainment activities, seeking to leave Attrakt, while Attrakt hopes for a swift agreement with FIFTY FIFTY.

Amidst this, it has become a viral topic that despite being a rookie group, FIFTY FIFTY has been living in a three-bedroom apartment in Gangnam, which cost 2.7 million won in monthly rent.

Recently, Korean netizens have been revisiting the dorm where BTS lived during their rookie days.

The dorm was a renovated office, so not a comfortable living space by any means. It was only 87 square meters in size. All seven BTS members lived together in one room.

They lived in a cramped space with multiple bunk beds, barely leaving any room to walk. Shoes were even spilling out into the kitchen, and they would share and rotate their clothes. They only had one computer as well.

It was a challenging time when BTS’s debut album, ‘2 Cool 4 Skool,’ sold only 24,000 copies in its first year of release.

Now, BTS has become a global star with countless unprecedented achievements. They revealed last June that they have moved out of their long-time dorm.
