Speculation over a possible romance between BTS’s V (Kim Taehyung) and IVE’s Jang Wonyoung has exploded online after a lengthy “proof list” from a Chinese social media user began circulating widely.
The viral post, originating from Douban, compiles photos and coincidences that netizens claim suggest the two idols are secretly dating. One key example points to photos taken at Seoul’s SAN Restaurant—where V and Wonyoung allegedly posted images featuring identical glassware, menus, and even wood patterns on the tables, just a day apart.
Another alleged piece of evidence comes from Jang Wonyoung’s July 3 Instagram update. Fans noticed the marble table in her photo resembles the one at V’s home, as previously glimpsed in his own posts. The dish she photographed, a particular noodle dish, also drew attention since V has publicly shared it’s his favorite from a nearby restaurant.
The list goes further, claiming Wonyoung has played songs recommended by V during livestreams, sparking assumptions of subtle messaging. Their overlapping schedules in Los Angeles during KCON also raised eyebrows, with fans noting both visited MOTHER WOLF, a restaurant where BTS’s RM had also shared photos.
Reactions online are divided. Many Chinese netizens insist the evidence lines up too closely to be coincidence, while others remain skeptical, calling it a stretch. Despite the mounting buzz, neither HYBE nor Starship Entertainment has issued a response, leaving the alleged relationship unconfirmed.
