BTS V cover on Vogue Korea decorated Japan’s largest bookstore Tsutaya… Everything is sold out

The face of BTS V adorned the wall on the first floor of a large Japanese bookstore called TSUTAYA, which is called the most beautiful bookstore in the world.

On October 13th, Shibuya Tsutaya Bookstore announced, “BTS V will be selling the October issue of Vogue Korea, the cover model. We are accepting reservations in stores and online.” Then, he said, “You can only purchase one cover of each type per person,” and asked for fans’ understanding in advance.

Then on October 17th, the book store announced  “There was a cover that was sold out, but we added stock online,” proving V’s popularity. Last month, as soon as the October issue of Vogue Korea started pre-sale on an online platform in Japan, it was sold out and restocked, becoming a bestseller, followed by the same situation in other large bookstores.

On October 21st, on the official SNS of Shibuya Tatsuya Bookstore, six photos of Vogue Korea with V as the cover were posted on the wall on the 7th floor, suggesting a high sales volume due to the location and scale of the arrangement.

On October 14th, the official SNS account of Tsutaya Bookstore magazine in Ginza, Japan’s largest shopping street, also said, “The cover of Vogue Korea October, which features BTS V, is accepting reservations online! Scheduled to arrive in late October – early November. To commemorate the release, we plan to hold a BTS POP UP.”

Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore attracted attention by posting pictures of the Japanese version of the book “I want to go home even though I’m at home” (literal translation) which became famous after V read it along with the 6 types of Vogue Korea’s October issue.  The book is sold out of pre-orders on six online sites including Amazon Japan and Rakuten. With the publication of the Japanese version of “I want to go home even when I’m at home”, it ranked #1 on Amazon Japan’s bestseller list.

The October issue of Vogue Korea caused a sell-out situation not only in Japan, but also at domestic and overseas online sales outlets such as Korea and the United States, and the global entertainment platform Ketapo (KTOWN4U) sold 51,879 copies, breaking the record of selling more than 50,000 copies for the first time in K-pop. It has proven its unrivaled global popularity.
