BTS replied to President Moon Jae-in’s congratulatory message on their wins at the AMA 2021, “We also feel proud”
BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook) responded to President Moon Jae-in’s message congratulating their winning at AMA 2021.
On November 23rd (KST), BTS posted on their official SNS account, saying, “President, thank you for congratulating us on our winning AMA awards.”
They added, “We also feel proud that Korean popular music has achieved meaningful results in the global mainstream music market. We hope that our culture and artists in diverse fields will continue to capture the hearts of people all around the world.”
At the 2021 American Music Awards, which was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 22nd, BTS won a total of 3 categories, including “Favorite Pop Duo/Group”, “Favorite Pop Song” (for “Butter”), and “Artist of the Year”.
In particular, BTS proved their outstanding global popularity by winning the main category “Favorite Pop Song” and the grand prize “Artist of the Year” for the first time.
The “American Music Awards” is an award ceremony organized by American broadcaster ABC. This is a world-class awards ceremony for pop music that has been held for 49 years. Together with the “Grammy Awards” and the “Billboard Music Awards”, they are considered the top 3 award ceremonies in the U.S.
In response, President Moon said on his official SNS on November 23rd, “I want to congratulate and thank BTS for winning the AMA Grand Prize”, and praised BTS’s achievements as proof of Korea’s great ‘soft power’.
