bts kaohsiung scalper ticket controversy

BTS fans are expressing massive frustration online after alleged scalper prices for the group’s upcoming Kaohsiung concerts surfaced even before official ticket sales officially opened.

According to Taiwanese media reports, BTS’s highly anticipated concerts at Kaohsiung National Stadium are scheduled to take place on November 19, 21, and 22.

Official ticket pricing was revealed on May 22, with the most expensive VIP package priced at NT$9,380. Other ticket tiers range from NT$2,980 to NT$7,980, with separate accessibility seating options also available.

However, controversy quickly erupted after screenshots of alleged reseller and “proxy booking” price lists began circulating on Threads and other social media platforms.

The leaked pricing chart showed shocking markups for premium seating.

According to the circulating posts, VIP front-row seats were reportedly being offered for as much as NT$110,000 — more than ten times the official price.

Other listings allegedly included:

  • Front 3-row VIP seats: NT$87,000
  • Front 5-row VIP seats: NT$56,000
  • Front 10-row VIP seats: NT$34,000
  • Random VIP seats: NT$27,000
  • Ground-floor random seating: NT$20,000

Even regular seated sections reportedly saw price increases exceeding NT$5,000 above official rates, with some tickets allegedly doubling in price before public sales even began.

The extreme resale prices immediately triggered anger among ARMYs across social media platforms.

Many fans criticized scalpers for profiting off the overwhelming demand surrounding BTS’s return while official ticketing had not even started yet.

Some netizens sarcastically joked online: “For NT$110,000, is Kim Taehyung going to hold me while singing?”

Others argued that the situation once again highlights the severe ticket scalping problem affecting major concerts throughout Asia.

The BTS Kaohsiung concerts will reportedly use a full real-name verification ticketing system in an effort to reduce illegal resales.

Weverse fan club presales are scheduled to begin on June 2, followed by Live Nation Taiwan member presales on June 3 and general sales on June 4.

As discussions continue spreading online, many fans are now urging organizers to strengthen anti-scalping measures before tickets officially go on sale.
